Ghent and Bruges Day Trip
Depart from Brussels’ city centre at 8:30 am by coach to the charming city of Bruges, also known as “The Venice of the North”, situated 100 km to the northeast of the Belgian capital.
Upon arrival in Bruges, follow your knowledgeable English-speaking guide through the town and visit some of the most popular landmarks such as Sint Janshospitaal (Saint John’s Hospital), the beautiful medieval Church of Our Lady, which houses a celebrated Madonna and Child sculpture. Next, head to the Market Square, visit the Basilica of the Holy Blood, the Belfry of Bruges, the Lake of Love, the Begijnhof which was established in 1245, Walplein Square, the Dijver Canal, Tanners Square, Castle Square and its Gothic-styled Town Hall.
After the guided tour around Bruges, continue to visit the city at your own leisure for one hour, stop to have lunch or get some typical souvenirs, including the delicious chocolate from Bruges.
Next, head to Ghent, the country’s fourth largest city and one of the liveliest towns in Belgium full of university students.
Once you get to the destination, let yourself be led through the picturesque streets of this charming town by your guide. You will discover St Bravo’s Cathedral, which accommodates the world-famous painting by the Van Eyck brothers: “The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb”. Afterwards, visit the Belfort bell tower, Saint Nicholas’ Church, Gravensteen (Castle of the Counts), the Castle of Gerald the Devil, the curious Town Hall, the Masons’ Guild House, and wander through the Patershol district. And afterwards, you'll have an hour of free time to take in the city at your own pace.
After a full day-trip, head back to Brussels. You will get to the capital’s city centre at around 7 pm.

Since Bruges and Ghent are such beautiful cities, if you have enough time, we recommend you book a full day tour to Bruges and another to Ghent. It is the best way to discover these two medieval gems.
For organizational purposes, sometimes you visit Ghent first and then Bruges.
